The longest cake of the world is 6.5 km

Hundreds of pastry chefs and chefs in india have made Wednesday in the State of Kerala (in the south) the longest cake in the world, with a length of 6.5 kilometres, beating a previous record set by bakers chinese.

The vanilla cake, stretching across thousands of tables arranged on the site of a festival, and the adjacent roads in the city of Thrissur, weighs approximately 27 000 kg.

1500 bakers and chefs wearing traditional toques and white aprons, have spent four hours making this dessert with chocolate ganache, using 12 000 kg of flour and sugar.

A large crowd of spectators has gathered to observe this event, organized by the bakery owners Association of Kerala (BAKE). The secretary-general of the association, Naushad, has indicated that Guinness World Records had established that the cake was 6.500 metres, and the confirmation of its exact length was imminent.

This cake would surpass the record established by the pastry chefs of chinese who had achieved in 2018 a fruit cake, a length of 3.2 km, in the county of Zixi. This record was registered by Guinness World Records.


The feat of pastry indian aims to “make the demonstration of their know-how in the world whole”, said to AFP Naushad (a single name).
