Avengers 5, Captain Marvel 2… When the MCU leaves leak its upcoming release dates

There are a few weeks ago, Disney unveiled its ambitious programme of output for the eight years to come. Owner of franchises cults like Star Wars or even Marvel, the american giant we had already promised almost eight feature-length films from the MCU, without however specifying the details of the latter. It was without counting on this new leak published by the account Instagram MarvelEspana, which tends to confirm a program that is loaded to the Marvel movies until 2022, and specifies precisely the names of the protagonists featured in each film.

After Avengers : Endgame and Spider-Man : Far from home, which is scheduled to release this year, fans of Marvel should discover (no surprise) a feature-length film centered on Black Widow, which will be released on may 1, 2020. Would follow then Doctor Strange 2, the November 6, 2020, and then a feature film centered on the Eternal (12 February 2021), which should offer the first all gay super-hero of the Marvel universe. Black Panther 2 (may 7, 2021) and Shang Chi (November 5, 2021) would also be in the program, while the year 2022 would be visibly devoted to suites of franchises already existing. We would go back to The Guardians of the Galaxy 3, the output of which is scheduled for 18 February 2022, Captain Marvel 2, announced for 6 may, and finally, a fifth long-feature film the Avengers, which should be out on the 29th of July 2022.

  • Black Widow – may 1, 2020

  • Doctor Strange 2 – 6 November 2020

  • The Eternal – 12 February 2021

  • Black Panther 2 – may 7, 2021

  • Shang Chi – November 5, 2021

  • The Guardians of the Galaxy 3 – February 18, 2022

  • Captain Marvel 2 – 6 may 2022

  • Avengers 5 – July 29, 2022

Obviously, these information are not yet official, and are therefore to be taken with much precautions. However, concerning the first six films of this list, this is not really a surprise, as they have already been advertised, and fit perfectly with the agenda unveiled by Disney a little earlier in the month. The surprise is, however, greater for Captain Marvel 2 and Avengers 5, which had not yet been entitled to a formalization in good and due form. Nevertheless, this announcement seems rather logical in view of the success of the two last movies of the MCU. As a reminder, Avengers : Endgame comes to exceed the juggernaut Avatar at the box office. A result — potentially focused on the multiverse in Secret Wars, do not, therefore, seem fanciful.
