iOS 13 does more for the screenshots

iOS 13 introduces a lot of new features of interest to the workshop edit screen captures, a feature inaugurated with iOS 11. The principle is always the same, it is to annotate and scribble a quick capture of the screen of his device. The first beta of iOS 13 gives the tool a number of changes, starting with a refreshed interface.

On iPhone as on iPad, the workshop is present on the bottom of the screen, blurred by the terminal. Otherwise more sympathetic than the gray background current… Other aesthetic change, the tools available to edit the capture to be more like their counterparts in real life. Complete the styling to the utmost, we easily recognized the various pencils, pens, eraser, etc

On the map of the graphical representation, we back away. It’s on the iPad that the difference is most visible, and for good reason because of the screen size of the tablets. The skeuomorphisme is he back at Apple ? Not everywhere, but the small touches added here and there are more enjoyable that the straight lines and the black/white/grey that were characteristic of the line graph of iOS since version 7.

Graphically, it is the day and the night but there’s not a lot of changes in the behavior of the tools. The tips of the different pens can change size and transparency, and, of course, another color can be selected (a pity that it is limited to a selection). Note, however, the new head of the Lasso tool : it is now a white pencil and grey (?), that still allows you to choose a shape or drawing to move it.

The rule, which was not available until now only in the Notes application, made its appearance in the box of tools for the annotation of screenshots. Good practice to draw lines perfectly straight !

The radius of the shapes available, no novelty is to be reported, and you can always play on the size of the stroke and on its colour of course. The integration of text only of the same three fonts (Helvetica, Georgia, and Noteworthy), with a choice of size and alignment. The magnifier has the same function with two points, a green to zoom inside the magnifier, a blue to change the size of the magnifying glass.

The iPad welcomes an additional function which takes the form of a slider at the top : it applies a white background more or less transparent on the capture. Useful to prevent an eye impinges on a word written to the capture.

On iPad, the toolbar can be positioned on the bottom, top, left or right of the screen. Note the presence of a small grey bar just above the tools : it is through him that you have moved the set to where it wants to.

To further save space, it is possible to reduce the size of the toolbar to a bubble. Simply activate the option Discount auto. in the menu .... Here also, one can place this cushion in any corner of the screen of the iPad. Moreover, more than on the tablet, this bubble would have been more comfortable on the smaller screen of the iPhone.

One of the new features of the screen capture tool is the ability to recover an entire web page, not only the content present on the screen. By touching the option Full page, the workshop offers a side bar to the right to navigate throughout the page (you can also scan and capture with two fingers). This capture full page is reserved for what one has seen, to Safari.

The application Files, who wins in battery life with iOS 13, appears as a new destination for the recording of the capture, in addition to Photos. iOS 13 will be asked in advance to indicate the folder in which to store the capture.

Like documents that can be recovered from a USB key or an external disk, the operation more flexible avoids the forced synchronization of files in iCloud ; the screenshots in particular do not necessarily have the vocation to all be in the cloud.

Finally, the last small new feature for the iPad and the Pencil, it is possible to snap a screenshot of a stroke of the pen in the bottom right of the screen of the tablet.
