Vincent Cassel : grimace unexpectedly full selfie with Tina Kunakey

The 1st feature film-L. Ly, presented in competition at the Cannes film Festival – Les Misérables (The Covenant – Wild Bunch) – made a strong impression at the villa Magnum ! A member of the collective Kourtrajmé, the director hired L. Ly started his career directing short films with his friends then, including K. Chapiron and A. Gavras. Have followed several documentaries, such as 365 days in Clichy – Montfermeil, carried out in his district and devoted to the riots of 2005, and then the docu-fiction Gb Fast Connection (2008) that highlighted the media’s treatment of the suburbs. Very noticed with the documentary In a loud voice, co-directed with S.de Freitas and nominated for the César 2018 of its class, L. Ly signs here his first feature film, Les Misérables, proofreading enlarged of the short film to which he had given his name, nominated for the César 2018 and awarded at Clermont-Ferrand in the previous year. For this film, Ly was surrounded by the same trio of actors who are resuming their respective roles for this huge adventure : D. Bonnard (price of Lumières2017 of the Revelation to Stay vertical), A. Manenti (The Enkas, 9 fingers) and D. Zonga (This is all for me). The story focuses on Steven (D. Bonnard), just arrived from Cherbourg who joined the brigade tasked with fighting crime in Montfermeil, in the 93. He there made the acquaintance of his new team-mates, Chris (A. Manenti) and Gwada (D. Zonga), two “Bacqueux” of experience whose methods border on sometimes the limits. It will then quickly discover the tensions between the various groups in the district. While they are overwhelmed during an arrest, a drone begins to film their every move… It is with the entire team of his film that the director came to celebrate the presentation of his first feature film in Cannes at a party at the villa Magnum. © Veeren/Bestimage
