Benjamin Griveaux: Who is his wife Julia Minkowski?

Benjamin Griveaux, LREM candidate, withdrew his candidacy for mayor of Paris on Friday, February 14, 2020 following the broadcast of an intimate video on the Internet. The former government spokesman is married to lawyer Julia Minkowski, mother of his three children.

Benjamin Griveaux withdrew his candidacy for mayor of Paris on Friday in an attempt to protect his relatives after a sexually explicit video was broadcast, the former government spokesman told AFP. The candidate La République en marche (LREM) denounced "despicable attacks". "This decision costs me dearly but my priorities are very clear. It's first and foremost my family, as you will have understood.

It is an opportunity to look back at the family life of Benjamin Griveaux, who is married to lawyer Julia Minkowski, mother of his three children. This very reputable criminal lawyer, a partner in the Temime law firm, had defended Bernard Tapie in the Crédit Lyonnais case. On a few rare occasions, Benjamin Griveaux and his wife had confided in each other about their daily lives.
"During the campaign, we had a totally destructured rhythm, but I am lucky to have a companion for whom there is nothing more important than family," she told Gala in June 2018.

Protecting his family has always been Benjamin Griveaux's priority, as he confided to Télé-Loisirs last October. "I absolutely protect them. They are small. They are 7 years, 5 years and 3 months old. So, really, I protect them. They haven't made that choice, which is mine (...) With my wife, obviously, we talk, when I told her I intended to launch myself in the Parisian campaign, it's obviously with her support, otherwise it's not possible. I can't have lives that are impermeable to each other. I love him very much. I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing if she hadn't been there," explained the former Paris mayoral candidate.

As a reminder, the 42-year-old politician became the father of a little girl born last May. With his wife Julia, they had already welcomed two children, a 7-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter. In 2018, he explained to France 5 that he had set himself "two imperatives" about his role as a father:
"To be present one evening a week to read a story at bedtime and to spend half a day with them at weekends to share activities".
One can imagine that his priority now is to focus on the well-being of his family in these complicated times.
